James Abbey

James Abbey is a documentary video editor, motion graphics designer, and visual storyteller with the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA). He contributes to the organisation’s multimedia and documentary storytelling efforts, supporting investigative journalism, accountability initiatives, and human rights advocacy by translating complex social and governance issues into engaging visual narratives.

Prior to joining MFWA in August 2025, James worked with Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) as a documentary video editor for JoyNews and JoyPrime. During his time at MGL, he was involved in the production of news features, long-form documentaries, and visual explainers, gaining valuable experience in broadcast journalism and fast-paced newsroom environments.

James holds a Diploma Certificate in Video Editing, Graphic Design from Creativeland School of Film and Media Art.
