The Model Safety of Journalists Policy gives media organisations in Ghana practical, systematic procedures for protecting journalists and media workers before, during and after assignments.
It covers newsroom security, assignment risk assessment, high-risk reporting, digital and legal safety, the safety of female journalists and journalists with disabilities, psychological well-being, safety equipment, incident reporting, monitoring, and the responsibilities of key institutions and stakeholders.
It was produced under the Action “Strengthening the Rule of Law and the Fight Against Corruption in Ghana”, part of the Participation, Accountability, and Integrity for a Resilient Democracy (PAIReD) initiative.
