With the story, titled, “Education the Poor”, Nabil Ahmed Rufai of GHOne TV won the best report for the SDGs category. Set in a public primary school in Teong, a rural community in the Tempane District in the Upper East Region of Ghana, the report highlights the abject poor conditions under which pupils study.

Deprived of basic teaching and learning materials, pupils in the Teong primary school write in the sand while taking their lessons, a deviation from the Sustainable Development Goal 4 which seeks to promote quality education for all.

Following Nabil’s report, an NGO based in Ghana, McDan Foundation, built an 8-unit classroom block and furniture for the school.
