Project Assistant

Miliza Noemi F. Djata

Miliza Noemi Fernandes Djata is a Project Assistant at the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), based in the organisation’s Guinea-Bissau office.

She currently supports the implementation of the European Union-funded project “Promote and Protect Democracy by Safeguarding Freedom of Opinion and Expression and Combating Mis/Disinformation in Guinea-Bissau,” implemented by MFWA in partnership with Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and Fondation Hirondelle.

In her role, Miliza contributes to the coordination and implementation of project activities, including organising trainings and stakeholder engagements, supporting project monitoring and documentation, coordinating with consultants and partners, and assisting in the preparation of technical and administrative reports.

She has also contributed to MFWA’s broader Freedom of Expression Programme by monitoring and documenting developments related to press freedom, freedom of expression, and media rights in Guinea-Bissau.

Miliza holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Universidade Evangélica de Goiás (UniEvangélica), Brazil. She is passionate about media development, freedom of expression, and democratic governance. She is fluent in Portuguese and Crioulo, and has professional working proficiency in English and French.
