Josephine Badu-Nyarko

Josephine Badu-Nyarko is a Programme Assistant at the Media Foundation for West Africa, where she supports the implementation of initiatives under the Media for Democracy and Good Governance Programme.

With a background in journalism and communications, Josephine brings a strong blend of journalism and programme coordination to her role. She leads the coordination of the Next Generation Investigative Journalism (NGIJ) Fellowship, overseeing recruitment, training logistics, stakeholder engagement, and learning visits. She also supports monitoring and evaluation processes, coordinating workshops and forums, and produces web and media content that highlights the impact of the Foundation’s work. 

Prior to her current role, Josephine worked as a journalist with MFWA’s investigative and fact-checking platforms, including The Fourth Estate and Fact-Check Ghana, where she produced stories focused on governance, transparency, and anti-corruption. Her earlier experience includes serving as a Communications Assistant at MFWA and as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Ghana’s Public Affairs Directorate.

Josephine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies (Journalism option) from the University of Media, Arts and Communication and is an alumna of the Next Generation Investigative Journalism Fellowship.
