The Norbert Zongo Press Centre, MFWA’s partner in Burkina Faso, is accepting applications for this year’s “Norbert Zongo investigative journalism award” with a whopping 1, 000,000 CFA at stake.
The Norbert Zongo investigative journalism Prize is an award of excellence established in memory of the famous journalist and editor of the weekly newspaper, The Independent, who was murdered on December 13, 1998 in Burkina Faso. The award aims to promote the practice of investigative journalism, research, investigation on political, economic, social, cultural and other relevant topics.
Professional journalists in Africa regularly employed in the media or collaborating with media in Africa who have published/broadcast content between 3rd May, 2013 and 3rd May, 2015 can submit application for the categories listed below :
• Newspaper: send the original and a photocopy of the article submitted;
• Television: send two DVD copies of your work;
• Radio: send two audio cassettes or 2 CDs of your work;
Deadline for application is August 30, 2015.
Applicants are to note that only work in French or English will be accepted. Works produced in other languages, should have a translated version in French or English.
