The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), with support from the Dutch Foreign Ministry, is seeking the services of a qualified consultant to undertake a baseline study on the state of women’s access and use of the internet and participation in digital spaces in Togo.
The study will form part of MFWA’s project to promote women’s digital rights and empower them to safely use and benefit from digital spaces. Findings from the baseline study will be used to engage policy makers and other relevant stakeholders in Togo, raise awareness on challenges women face in accessing and using the internet, and inform strategies to empower women to participate in online and digital spaces.
Scope of Work
The consultant will:

Map women’s access to the internet and digital spaces.

Assess how women use and engage in digital spaces.

Identify barriers to access and participation.
-
Map key stakeholders and ongoing initiatives.
-
Make recommendations for improving women’s access and digital inclusion.
Deliverables
-
Draft and final baseline study report (in English or French).

Presentation of findings and facilitation of a training session on advocacy strategies.
Qualifications

Advanced degree in gender studies, digital rights, communications, or related fields.

Proven experience in gender and digital technology research.

Strong knowledge of gender issues and the digital rights landscape in Togo.

Excellent analytical, writing, and facilitation skills.
