The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) in partnership with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), JoyNews and Ghana Television (GTV) will on Thursday March 26, 2026 convene a Forum on Media and the Fight Against Corruption in Ghana. The forum, funded by DW Akademie, will come off at the Palms by Eagle Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn) in Accra at 9 am.
The forum featuring a keynote address from Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo, former Auditor-General of Ghana, will bring together over 100 key stakeholders in Ghana’s anti-corruption efforts including media experts, diplomatic corps, legal experts, human rights experts, women groups, CSOs, Public/state institutions, journalists and anti-corruption advocates to reflect on recent developments and deliberate on how the media can strengthen transparency, expose corruption and promote accountability in Ghana.
The forum will also feature statements from leading national anti-corruption institutions including EOCO and GACC, and will explore how stronger partnerships between the media, state institutions, and civil society can improve transparency and public accountability.
Additionally, the forum will include a panel discussion exploring the role of investigative journalism, legal, and other governance frameworks in tackling corruption in Ghana.
Panelists will include; Mr. Vitus Adaboo Azeem, anti-corruption crusader and former Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana; Professor Audrey Gadzekpo, communications consultant and Professor at the Department of Communication Studies, University of Ghana; and Mr. Seth Bokpe, Associate Editor at The Fourth Estate, our investigative journalism project. The discussion will be moderated by Samson Lardy Anyenini, Esq., legal practitioner and broadcaster at JoyNews.
The forum will be broadcast live on Joy News Television and GTV, with coverage by other major media houses.
