Thelma Dede Amedeku is an investigative journalist with The Fourth Estate, the MFWA’s investigative journalism project. She specialises in investigating social media trends, debunking mis/disinformation, and exposing the misuse of public funds through data-driven and open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
Some of her works have contributed to legislative and institutional reforms. She cut her teeth on fact-checking and investigative journalism during the Media Foundation for West Africa’s 2022 Next Generation Investigative Journalism (NGIJ) fellowship, where she was adjudged the Best Checker of the Fellowship in 2022.
She continues to expand her expertise in OSINT and data analysis to strengthen evidence-based journalism in Ghana and beyond. Before joining the MFWA team, she worked as a content writer for multiple brands. Thelma is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at the University of Media Arts and Communication (UNIMAC).
