Philip Teye Agbove

Philip Teye Agbove is an investigative journalist with The Fourth Estate, the MFWA’s investigative and accountability journalism project.

His reporting exposes corruption, human rights abuses, defends indigenous and community rights, investigates human trafficking, and highlights failures in public accountability, with a strong emphasis on social justice issues.

He has collaborated on major cross-border investigations with leading international media organisations, including the BBC, CBC, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR), and Bloomberg.

His work has received significant recognition. He is the winner of the 2025 KAS Media Africa Award for Local Journalism for his investigation into developments around salt mining in the Songor Lagoon. He was named Best Community Reporter in West Africa at the 2025 CJID Excellence in Journalism Awards. He also received the Best News Journalist of the Year (Online Category) at the 2024 Ghana Journalists Association Media Awards.

His journalism has earned additional acclaim, including recognition by the International Justice Mission, a shortlisting for the 2025 Amnesty International Media Awards, and a mention for the TRACE Prize for Investigative Reporting.
